A bit of background
Chinese universities partnered with SIGNAL are invited to organize an annual Research Paper Competition. Students throughout the participating university take part in the semester-long program. Faculty Advisors first review proposed topics to ensure relevancy, and then assist and advise the students during the essay writing process. The universities continuously recognize that the Research Paper Competition is a popular program that leads to greater understanding and appreciation of Israel among the Chinese academic community.
In addition to university-wide Research Paper Competitions, SIGNAL also hosts a National Research Paper Competition that is open for all students, even those not enrolled in ISPs. Cooperating universities offer students from across the country the opportunity to take part in the educational experience. The expansion of the program highlights the ever-increasing academic interest in Israel Studies in China.

The guests attend the ceremony to connect with the university’s administrators, faculties, and students and show support for the ISP program.
